Hat Box foundation was established in the Winter of 2007 as a volunteer-based non-profit organization with a mission to make and distribute FREE hand-made hats to people with cancer and others in need. We believe something made from the heart can help heal the human spirit. With that in mind, each hat distributed through the Foundation is 100% hand-knitted or crocheted by a group of volunteers across the country. Since each hat is made by hand, each hat is unique and offers that special ingredient of kindness. And because of the generous donations from our volunteers and sponsors, we are able to give the hats free of charge to the well-deserving recipients. As we expand our efforts across the US, we hope you will join us in our journey.

OCTOBER is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Hat Box foundation proudly supports Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure. We've provided "pink" hats for individuals and teams participating in the following races:

Inland Empire Race for the Cure - Temecula, CA (October 17, 2010)

Tri-Cities Race for the Cure - Kingstport, TN (October 24, 2010)

Memphis Mid-South Race for the Cure - Memphis, TN (October 30, 2010)

San Diego Race for the Cure - San Diego, CA (November 17, 2010)

HAT BOX across AMERICA!

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers, we're close to meeting our goal of reaching out to patients across the states. We sent out our 4000th hat in September, 2010 and we've connected with nearly 100 hospitals and treatment centers in 44 states!
